Wessex Cancer Trust is one of WestQuay’s charity partners for 2008/9 and we are proud to be holding this fashion event in aid of them. Every penny from the entry tickets and raffle tickets will go to Wessex Cancer Trust.
Jane Carley, Fundraising Executive at Wessex Cancer Trust, said “We are delighted that WestQuay Shopping Centre has chosen to support the work of this unique charity which helps so many people throughout the Wessex region. The money raised will help us to reach so many more people as demand for our services is increasing on a daily basis. We are committed to growing the number of major grants we award as well as our individual patient grants. We also are very keen to strengthen our support on the Isle of Wight and Channel Islands. We are delighted to have received a further donation from Hammerson, which will go to support our Youth Campaign and enable us to help raise awareness of prevention and detection of cancers amongst younger people as well as encouraging them to work with the Trust.”
Wessex Cancer Trust supports many aspects of cancer care for adults and children, including research, education, the production of cancer prevention/patient information leaflets, the improvement of patient facilities, the purchase of equipment and financial help for cancer patients and their families, as well as providing a free councilling and complimentary service to cancer patients and their carers and families.
